Hands On Sensuality
- 19:00 - 22:00
- 17th May
Hands On Sensuality is a pleasure-inducing ten-course tasting menu and a celebration of female sensual pleasure.
The ten mouthfuls are prepared and served onto different parts of the fingers, hand and wrist, encouraging the diners to explore the sensual potential of eating from their own hands, and the power of touch, as a way of experiencing food.
The evening is accompanied by a talk and discussion on female sexual pleasure, led by Dr Annalise Weckesser, Senior Research Fellow from Birmingham City University. Annalise will discuss the origins, ramifications and resistance of gendered double standards around female sexual pleasure.
“This event is a feast for the senses; it is a performance that requires indulgence, a combination of the social, artistic and technical elements of food and its consumption.”- Review by Tom Glover for Arts Brum on ‘Hands On Sensuality’
Curated and produced by Artist Kaye Winwood, Food/ Theatre Producer Christie Hill, and hosted by Ellie Andrews at Cafe 164.
